Memorial tattoos

A memorial tattoo can take many forms and express itself in many ways. Endless possibilities exist when it comes to remembering a person.
But the most popular styles can be grouped in a few general categories:
  • Names and dates
  • Heart tattoos
  • Winged hearts
  • Portraits
  • Religious memorial tattoos
  • R.I.P. tattoos
Memorial tattoos should reveal the life and character of the person that has passed away. But you have to take in consideration something you would wear proudly in your skin for the rest of your life.
First remember the person as an individual, when creating a tattoo to memorialize somebody. Perhaps some of their hobbies or something you used to do together. Think of the way that person influenced your life directly, and how you bonded. These things help add up images to the memory of that person that could be transformed in a dedicated tattoo design.
A good idea would be to let some time pass before getting a memorial tattoo. Sometimes, in that painful stage we impulsively want to make a drastic change, something to bring back a bit of that person. These are things that could be regretted in time. Perhaps a memorial tattoo, or tattoos at all might not be for you.
